Wow. Banned from TGP

i got banned for a week just now. Lol

Why?

I posted in the digital forum to try out some profiles for free. Yes it's a commercial site but I see countless others posting the same stuff. A couple of spineless jerks reported me for it. The mod told me to report others that are doing it since that's how he found out. I replied with a thank you and said that I will start reporting. Double standard over there I guess.

Today's post that I got the 2nd warning for looks to have been deleted. In the warning I was told that a couple of people reported it and that was how the mod found out so if I'm not happy seeing others doing the same thing I should just report them. I replied and said thank you and that I would start reporting people (even though I probably wouldn't). 5 minutes later, I'm banned. lol

F TGP and that little nerd Scott Peterson. I like it over here. We can bash each other and most can handle it and move on. I always get owned on here as I post stupid stuff a lot and I can handle getting owned. See, I realize that this is just the internet and it's tough to understand people through text. I know for a fact that I could get along well with 99% of you fuckers in person. People on TGP can't handle anything. They're the type of people that go around looking for reasons to be offended. I can dish and I can handle it. TGP can't. I don't miss that place and all the old fucks still listening to the God Damn Beatles like they're the only music there is. Again, Fuck TGP and the NAZI's that run that place and the little fucking spineless tattle tales.
 
Yeah I agree to a point but getting banned for something others are doing is going a little too far.

The last thing you want is a bunch of ads infused in gear chat. A good way to get around that is to simply put up a link to free profile or 2 and people will know where to go if they want more.
No, I guess that doesn't work well either;I received a warning for putting up a free link on SSO and really was just chatting tone, but they didn't like it. Posting as a commercial seller brings the hammer!
 
I guess it does but I see it a lot over there without any issues. That's my issue. But whatever, the ban is for a week.
 
Why not just give you a warning and move the thread to the retailer section? A week ban seems a bit excessive.

Did you argue with them? I've gotten a couple of warnings for arguing. Imagine that. :D

I did get a warning to be fair. But I noticed others doing the exact thing I got banned for so I made a new thread and plainly stated that I was going to TRY to post it because I see others doing it and if anyone has a problem, please pm me and let me know their concerns. Nope...cowards just reported it and that was that. My original post got moved to the builders emporium but nobody ever goes in there judging from the views the threads get.

I find it funny that I got sent the warning pm stating that the thread was being moved. When I replied and said thank you and that I would start reporting others (as they suggested), that's when I got banned 5 minutes later. Seriously funny!

Yeah I think that's my original post. The new one looks like it was deleted altogether. The new one from today mentioned nothing about buying like that one does. It was just a chance to try a profile of your choice.

Were all your threads in that forum? If so, I don't get why you were suspended...

The first one was in the digital forum...it was a direct link to a blog about using the kemper...they moved it to the builder forum and gave me a warning. I asked why, they said 2 people complained and reported it.

I then saw many commercial sellers posting to check out their sites for the newest profiles/products, etc...so I posted again today and said I see others posting this type of thing here and that I wasn't trying to sell anything...just offering a free profile. They moved it, then I got a warning again which told me to report others...when I replied to the warning to say thank you and that I would report what I see and deem not fair, I was then banned. Can't make this stuff up.
 
2 years ago I was given a lifetime ban.

Someone had posted the new iPhone 5 and said now it comes in 5 new colors and was so awesome. So I said......"Golly gee boys and girls, it now comes in 5 gay looking colors with no tech advancements."

Mike banned me for a week for.......get this.......a hate crime! We exchanged pm's. I said...Hate Crime! What are you freaking talking about? The fact that I hate Apple? He said my reference to gay. Told him to get over himself. Told me he would bean me for a month for challenging him. So I told him to ban me for life because you are gay. He did not like that.

Funny part, I rejoined a month later, dumb ass still doesn't know.
 
Brother. A couple of facts to digest.

1) You can't act as a shill for someone else's company. That means posting things like "This freaking profile is bad ass, go get it. Here's a link!" That violates TGP rules where you have to list your commercial affiliations in your signature. My guess is you didn't.

2) TGP has people pay to sell things there. You buy the right to do that in the Emporiums. It's $5 per month, or you can get a Gold membership for $50 per year. I buy the gold membership since I have a business, and I want to support the TGP as a board for the 141,000 members who do not pay one frigging cent to surf/post there. I'm sure they have some that pay, some that rejoin under new names/IP addresses and don't. There are just over 142,000 members now. Kudos to those that pay honestly for what they get. Those of you who think the internet is still free...wake the fuck up. It's not.

3) Anything about religion, politics, gay, lesbian, etc is now being closely monitored and dealt with. How you talk at home to friends is NOT how you can post online. Get over it. Maybe the iPhone colors are too "vivid" for you, but posting them as gay now falls under special categories. I have gay friends, they'd laugh it off. But there are other uptight bozos who bend the TGP's ear for their own agendas and will sue the TGP for your "gay colors" comment. Try looking at your post with everyone else's eyes/ears you didn't give two craps about when you posted, and maybe you'll understand.

4) You agreed to certain rules when you joined the TGP. You violated them. You got caught like a kid with his hand in the cookie jar. Big deal. Can't do the time? Don't do the crime!

5) So much of this is just plain common sense, and not being an entitled "It's all about me ahole!", that I wonder how many actually know they're doing this before they get caught and banned.

6) Sure, I've been given a time out. I broke the rules, no slack for advertisers given. If I'm not golden after supporting that place since 2003, then you sure as fuck are not, I guarantee you that!

So stop whining like a bitch with her thong twisted too tight, would ya? Sheesh.
