man..... how can tubes make a dif.

I changed the V1 tube (btw, just to be clear, V1 is the one closest to the guitar input jack right?), I swapped the sovtek that was in V1 for a Tube Town 12AX7/ECC83 Classic, that Olaf recommended me. Got 4 tubes (to have a few to spare) and used one of those on the Einstein, and wow, the low end dramatically tighten! (It felt like another amp!.... I mean, wow)

Then I swapped the Power tubes, put in some EL34B from TubeTown too, and again, made the amp sound MORE tight! there's one thing.....the clean ch. mode1 sounds pristine! even MORE fenderish, same as mode 2, sounds better, but mode3 I loss some gain.... what it did what actually "brighten" ch1 a little bit and made it sound beautiful in modes 1 and 2, but mode 3 suffered a bit. It's ok because I use mode 1, 2 and ch.2 the most. Even though I reall like mode 3, I just don't use that much.

very very nice! I'm one happy man.

Things got VERY tough now, because if I happen to love the Vh4, I won't be able to part with the Einstein that easily! :P

lets see!

I don´t understand it! You didn´t buy your Einstein with original tubes???

yup! but don't ask me HOW it sounds better... but it does!

What some people don't think about is that even though Peter uses tubes that he feels makes the amp sound as good as it can, he has to buy tubes in large quantities, so the tubes may be fine, but they may not offer the tone every single person desires.
Hence the reason for some possible experimentation with different brands of tubes.

Tubes will sound different depending on the brand of the tubes.
I play my Diezel amps with stock tubes for about three months to become familiar with the amp as it comes from Peter. then I try my favorite brand of pre-amp tubes to see what the difference is going to present, tone-wise.

Diezel amps react very well to changes in tube brands, bringing on different tonal rainbows to be enjoyed. And, it is not necessary to change out every tube to achieve these tonal changes.

+1 on everything you said Stephen.....

your comment on a past thread regarding the V1 tube change was what got me interested in swapping that tube to see what dif. would it make, and oohhh boy what a difference!

any more ideas on which one besides V1 would have that tonal change once swapped?

I hate to say it, but if you have 10 of the same model of tubes, they can all sound different.
