I have a Wulffson guitar from back in the day, it was one he just used bodies and necks he had and tossed some good parts on there to sell locally rather than being a custom order and he put an ugly Duncan SLS-1 lipstick in the neck. I mean I guess it sounds ok, but it look looks bleh...and especially with it being an obviously rock/metal guitar, I need to change it.
It has a JB in the bridge and I'd prefer to stay with a Duncan, but not too opposed to a DiMarzio. Anywho, here's the catch....it has to be of the same footprint if you will that the SLS-1 is. It is a tight fit. It's 3.34" from end to end, .63" from top to bottom, and height doesn't really matter I guess. A lot of Duncan's single coils fit that size, and I assume DiMarzio too, but DiMarzio loves to put that extra little tab at the bottom that you have to specifically order without when you get pickups from them.
Anyways, if you have a good used rock flavored pickup that'll play nicely with a JB, in black, then let me know what you have. Like I said, I'm not opposed to DiMarzio (if it doesn't have that little tab), but then I'd feel obligated to swap the JB out to a DiMarzio humbucker lol
