Hey All,

This probably overlaps heavily with amps I have now, and I know they had some reliability issues, but I am getting nostalgia for my teenage metal-core years so I want one haha. If anyone has a Framus Cobra or knows of one for sale please let me know. Thanks!
 
Check the guitar center used area. I got a mint one couple years back. Less than a grand
 
If you get one, I implore you to send it to FJA for mods, if he’s still modding. I sold my buddy a Cobra years ago, he sent it in, and it came back 10x better. It now destroys a stock Cobra. He added a boost knob on the back that takes the amp next level, without a boost in front. The mod also removed any fizz that these amps have. I’m almost positive the amp in this vid was modded by FJA, and it was the vid that made my buddy send it in. His amp now sounds like this.

Good tip. That amp sounds fantastic.
 
And I recently played my one buddy’s stock Cobra, and my other buddy’s FJA Cobra, and the difference is quite dramatic. There’s no comparison.
 
a couple of years ago it seemed like you could always get a Cobra at a decent price point. I had a mint one years ago and sadly flipped it. This year I've been cruising GCenter used and Reverb and there's nothing out there- where did they all go? Right now there is nothing
 
Yeah they used to be everywhere. I've been looking fairly consistently since early 2020 and they have been rare or asking a lot. I have seen more Dragons than Cobras which is weird.
 
Mods are subjective, proceed with caution unless you find good clips,ivw had several of those modded amps and they werent that impressive....if you like stock, stick with it and its easier to sell, had a hard time moving a.couple of them

That would be why I posted a vid and said that my friends FJA Cobra sounds just like that one.
 
Yes. FJA will make any amp a crushing machine!! His modded dual rec was the best amp I’ve owned. Have not talked to him in few years though.
