No stripes on the IV. It's just the A and B model. Not really sure on the differences, I just know I had an A in 2008 and never got along with it. Have a B now and love it. Could easily be chalked up to my inexperience years ago, though. I hear the B is darker, but I don't find mine to be darker, so who knows.what are the things to look out for on these? Yes, the large, brown, Sprague 10,000 caps. Mike B said it’s cheaper to have those changed then clean up the mess they’ll make when they go.The only "thing" to "look" out for on the (mostly early) IVs is that there's a brown cap that likes to blow up & make a mess of things.
I owned an A pre band. HATED R2. Sold it. Played a B at a GC & liked it much better- darker & tighter. Bought a B last week to try it in the band, want to see if it can succeed where IIC+ and III have failed!

Look for brown CAN caps on the main board. See the 3 brown caps from the 3 blue caps on the main board in the picture on this site. http://ra2amps.com/?p=14What brown caps? I have 2001 Rev B. I hadn't noticed any. But I haven't specifically looked either?
