Looking for pickups for my LPC. Thinking BKP's, Arcane, WCR, MCP, etc. I play mostly hard rock/old school metal and my amp is a Friedman JJ100. Not the biggest fan of ceramic mags, at least not the ones I've tried. Whatcha got?

No thanks, my guitar currently has Gibson pickups. Looking to mix it up a bit
 
I went with a Suhr Aldrich in a LPC and it's a monster pickup for LP's, it's got an A-5 magnet and I think it's 17-18K ohms. It has a really balanced frequency response, it's tight without being an all metal pickup, I think of it as a really high output PAF. I think another that sounds really good is the MCP Detroiter was another that I still want to try in the fututre.

A good economy buy that always sounds great is a Duncan Custom, but it has a ceramic mag. Good luck with your search.
 
I have Wizz and Ox4. They have slightly aged covers.PM if interested.

Thanks, yeah I'm thinking about trying the Aldrich again. I had it in a Les Paul before and didn't really dig it but that might have been the guitar or my amp at the time

I had a set of Arcane PAF's that I never got around to installing, I really wanted to hear them but I sold the guitar that I bought them for then I just sold them. Arcane and the MCP Detroiter might be in your wheelhouse. If you've played the aldrich already and didn't dig it in an LP it might not be your thing, to me it had a JB without the mid spike response. I installed an Aldrich in a strat and I did not like it at all in that guitar.

Since you have the JJ amp I think the 9-12K ohms is plenty of output. The Detroiter has a great aggressive crunch that I like from clips that i've heard.

This. Iv'e heard and played through a CS in a LPC. You should do yourself a favor and try it. I think you'll be happy :rock:
