I’m looking for a Suhr SSH+ DOUBLE CREAM bridge pickup.

I am not looking for anything other than a double cream bridge pickup.

PM me with what you have.

I didn’t think you could get them in double cream due to the lawsuit deal with Dimarzio?

They're available, check Matt's Music online, he lists them.

I have a few in double cream, but all F spaced. I believe I read that Dimarzio made Suhrs pickups many years ago.

The original JST pickups were a collaboration with Dimarzio. The covers were matte, in black, perhaps zebra, but not cream.
AFAIK there have never been double cream Suhr bobbin covers.
If you have them, are they parchment rather than cream? That is an option.
If they managed some before being told to stop, you may have some rare pieces.

The Dimarzio monopoly on cream is one of the daftest copyrights I’ve ever heard of. Did they invent the color?
It is like Ferrari having a copyright on red paint.

No doubt. So what stops another company from putting a patent on every other color?

They are double cream. Here is one next to a dimarzio. Too bad it’s trem spaced. They aren’t mash ups of multiple pickups either. I have a bunch of Seymour Duncan ones as well. Not mash ups either. I bought another double cream here from scottosan as well.

So if anyone has a double cream SSH+ regular spaced, I’ll buy it. :D

Cream, huh? Very cool
The last pic suggests Suhr is hiding cream under the nickel covers, which is what Duncan has done prior
I took the cover off a neck Aldrich recently and it was black, although that’s what I wanted

I’ll bow out as I’m clogging your thread
Good luck with the search

Why doesn’t that patent run out? Don’t parents run out after 17 years or something?

I’ve had 2, but they were covered. I didn’t know they were double cream until I took the covers off. You can tell if the screw coil is cream by backing out a screw all of the way. Most of Suhrs zebra pickups have a black screw coil.

Dave, you could always try a Jalen Mad man. Pretty much the same specs 17k+ A5 and double cream for about $80 shipped within a week.

I wish Jalen had a website and description of their pickups. Their FB page doesn’t have much information either.

The SSH+ and Aldrich are upper mid heavy and the cut, which I why I love them.

Same specs doesn’t equal same sound. I guarantee the magnets are cut different.

Should be easy to see if the suhr is polished or roughcast and whether the wire is enamel or poly coated. Suhrs are machine wound, so I doubt anything special with the wind patterns I always thought the J.B. cut more that the Aldrich, but then again, never tried one in a Charvel. I trust Dave’s judgment on that though. Just throwing out some options since choices are so limited for cream and you don’t have to spend a ton on a pickup that your unsure about.

Matt's Music didn't work out ? I think what they list as white is off white or kind of creamy. The Zebra pickups don’t have a black coil and a white coil, they’re off white or slightly cream colored, so the two white coils would be the same, no ?

Where? I took a look at Matts Music site and could find no cream option on any of there Suhr pups..they do have a parchment option but no cream option. Parchment is not the same as cream..I have a Aldrich in parchment and its a off white..definitely not cream.

Do you have a link to a Suhr pup that has the cream option anywhere?

What I think is any Suhr HB pups that are cream are pups that were originally covered.

Agreed on the Dimarzio cream deal
