I was watching the Exile video since I have heard nothing from the new album yet, and beginning of the video the first amp is a Peavey ValveKing. What the hell?? I'd have to say I definately do not like the tone, but maybe it's because the speakers on this comp are shit... but it still doesn't sound very good... why would one of the guitarists switch to a ValveKing of all amps? That's just messed up, because when I played one, it sounded blah, and it's not even made in the U.S. either. I'd have to say their best tone was on Figure Number Five, but maybe I'm biased since that's my favorite album of Soilwork.

Most people don't like FNF but the first two songs are awesome, as well as the tone. I end up listening to Stabbing the Drama most of the time but I haven't really given a good listen to all of them.

They didn't use a Valveking to record the album, I dunno why it's in the video. From what I saw of the studio pics they had an Engl Savage 120, an Elmwood amp, and Krank cabs. I don't like the tone, but the album is cool. Real catchy.

Figure Number Five is awesome, but their old stuff is way better. WAY more guitar heavy. Tons of riffs and solos.

See, I am complete opposite. I love their older stuff, don't misunderstand, but just like In Flames, I think both Soil and Flames get better and better with time. I haven't heard Soil's new album yet, but we shall see. To me, they seem to have more feeling and catchy melodicness with newer albums compared to their older stuff which is more heavy/"thrashy" if you will.

Yeah, that's where you can see the Savage 120 and Elmwood. I think both guitarists used Ola's Angelus as far as guitars go.

Good good, but their tone still sucks on the new album.  At least they have good amps putting out crappy tone... :aww:

the first 5 songs of the new cd are on their myspace, all of them are kind of like that but they all are actually pretty good. I like the cd alot.

Isn't there water in the vid? Maybe they used low cost amps to avoid potentially ruining more expensive amps due to water damage.
