Anyone here regularly using their XLR direct out on their Egnater. I'm experimenting with my Renegade and keep being impressed with that XLR direct tone. It competes very respectably with a mic'd tone.

I know direct tone is usually panned by ...pretty much everyone. But I'm thinking of just going direct.

Anyone else here find themselves in this position??

(I should add that right now I'm using it for playing live, not for recording.)

I use the record out on my Rebel 30 regularly. I like the tone I just bump the mids and treble up a bit on the amp.

I've always found them a little too noisy. That's mostly for recording. Might be good for live.

My Reb 30 DI is dead quiet. Use it all the time to record. Usually a mix of mic'ed & DI. Any noise comes from all the crap I got in the effects loop. This is one of the amps I do gig. Running through a board/PA makes it sound huge.
