XTC 101B Effects loop as Volume Boost?

I've read in some posts that some are using the FX loop on the XTC 101B as a volume boost. Curious as to the settings used for this. Serial? Parallel? Are you using a jumper cable between the send/return?

I'm currently using an MXR micro amp. But it sounds like it may not be needed?

Serial with patch cord no pedals needed works great

I tried this and it definitely works. However, I get a noticeable pop when switching back and forth. Anyone have any thoughts?

What is serial? Can you explain exactly how to do this. Sorry for the ignorance but I have never messed with my loop at all.

He most probably meant: "use the loop in serial mode"
