If I put a patch cord between the effects loop send and return can I use this as a boost? I tried it and it seems to work but I don't want to blow up my amp. Is this ok to use?thanks

Yes, it is safe. Use Series Mode and Master Volume to set the amount of boost.

Regards, Andy :)

do you even need to plug a patch cord in? my loop on/off works as a boost, using the Master Vol to set the vol, with no cable plugged through the loop. :D

Tried it.

Preferred the Mk.4:23 Pro on the 20thA overall. Fact is, that pedal is glued to that amp for the most part. They go super well together.

Just sayin

Are you using it as a vol or gain boost?

And yes the 20th Anni's are quite spectacular.
The red channel is a masterpiece

is the boost pedal in the loop used, because you're running long cables? Doesn't the amps effects master give enough boost?

It's a super transparent power boost pedal - dB only - no gain, dirt, OD or the like. It pushes the front end and increases volume only. The perceived increase in gain is solely due to the preamps getting a hotter signal. The stomp is a magic stomp for me. It does so much by actually doing so little.

I use it as a volume boost - but with that comes some added benefits

Ahh in the front end.
Yeah I was wondering if it was that or in the loop.

I also have that little gem of a pedal, pushing the front as well

I don't use the FX loop, so this would be a great trick. If I can use it for a clean db boost then it's on!

I just use a small pach cord but some of these guys are using a boost pedal too. It works fine without the boost pedal for me.

Thanks for the tip!

Now I just need to replace the switch on my foot switch, as it's making the nastiest popping noise. I've already tried contact cleaner on front and back with no luck. Searching the forum for a switch replacement recommendation but nothing. Any suggestions?
