here is my deal in brief....
I swear i go back and forth with them. Preferring obne over the other, then back and forth.. blah blah...
Over the last several years I ended up tending to prefer the SLO because it is raunchier sounding, yet still harmonically rich. It always sounded good in a band setting, was easy to dial in etc.. The XTC would grow old for me because it started to sound too smooth, not snarly enough. Even the 100b.
So you say, "well it sounds like you have it all figured out, why post", but... now for the curveball...
I just got another xtc101b and it seems WAY more aggressive than I ever remember the XTC to be. even the 100b which is considered more agreessive than the 100b. So now I am all tweaked on it. I have both but really cannot afford keeping both.. I wonder how much , if any influence on the voicing of the the more recent XTC's Mark Cameron had. I swear this 101b is mean as hell and that has never really been a description I would use for the 101b...
