Anyone run a later model XTC through a 4x12 UberKab?

If you didn't already know, the only difference between the standard and Uberkab is grill color and speaker type. It would be a hell of a lot cheaper to swap the two G12T-75s for V30s than swap cabs entirely.reverymike":2e91ba84 said:I use a uberkab with my 101b and it sounds great. I thought for awhile I wanted to get rid of it for a standard V30 bogner 4x12, but a couple gigs ago, I was soundchecking and my God, it sounded outstanding. . .so I'm not as in a hurry to get a standard Bogner 4x12.
Although, I'll probably get one eventually.

True, though it depends on the Uberkab. Only in the past year have they started making them front loaded. I kind of assumed reverymike's was a RL cab; if it's FL, then yes, there's a much bigger difference.Ventura":3jlrcm69 said:And....AND... I do have to interject here - I was UNDER the presumption that this was INDEED the case, however, I was corrected, in that, the UberKab, albeit sharing identical dimensions with that of the 'standard' Bogner 4x12, is actually front loaded, versus the standard cab's rear loaded. As per Rob @ TM, in one of these relatively recent threads, he did say, tonally, "unless you're going to be doing more extreme metal with the Ecstasy, the rear loaded, V30 equipped cab is better sounding with the XTC [sic]". So, ya, I was the one that pulled out the tape measure and realized the two boxes were identically sized. Then I thought why would Bogner re-machine and go through the CNC process to produce a NEW cabinet for ONE head in their lineup. It didn't add up, didn't make sense. So I posted my findings, and, well, as above, apparently the front loading on the UberKab does wonders for more of a metal genre and higher-gain signal than the more, shall we say, potentially "organic" sounds that of the rear loaded, standard cab.
Marketing.
However, I do know that rear loaded and front loaded cabs - same size, even SAME DRIVERS - do sound immensely different. So I'll give the benefit of doubt to Rob and Reinhold and the rest of the Bogner crew in their rear loaded with XTC, front loaded with Uber pairings.

Get two more 8 ohm speakers and wire it for 8 ohms (two speakers wired in series run parallel with the other two speakers wired in series).reverymike":mjrs1uiz said:There is also a difference in speakers. I would actually have to get four 16 ohm V30s. The V30s in the Uber are 8 ohm.
