Greetings :)
I recently bought a Yamaha MG32/14FX mixer that has an XLR connector for a gooseneck lamp. Unless I missed it, the manual doesn't provide the part number for the appropriate lamp. It does say that the lamp must be 12V (A/C or D/C) and 5W max. It also states that pins 2 & 3 should be wired to the bulb but that neither of them should be jumpered to ground.

Does anyone know where I can find the correct lamp for this board? The ones I found using a web search were all much higher wattage and didn't clearly state how they were wired. The owners manual makes it clear that connecting a lamp that is not wired as specified could damage the mixer...

Thanks in advance

I think you need to find an LED gooseneck type of device. A 5 Watts regular bulb at 12V is an awful little bit of light...

I'm assuming that there is a specific gooseneck lamp that the board was designed to use - but the owner's manual doesn't mention anything other than the requirements (12V, A/C or D/C, 5W max). You're right - 5W doesn't sound like much. I'm hoping that it puts out enough light to be useful - once I find one...

Anyone know a part number or source?

Littlelite. Look for them at just about any music store that carries pro audio.

Oh, and the 5 watt lamps are actually the high intensity bulbs. They're surprisingly bright. Led's are better but it'll run you around $70 instead of around $45.
