Yeah! COD on the way.

Try these settings and see if you sound like Larry Carlton or Robben Ford.

Gain - 1:00
Bass - 12:00
Mid - 2:00
Treble-10:00
Presense - 12:00 (lower if you turn up the amp)
Density - 9:30

Smooth........Even with my Strat's bridge pickup.

If you can make a good lead sound with a Strat's bridge pickup, you've got a good amp.

Yeah, that's similar to where I have it, but I'm playing an M4 through a 2290 and a Rivera TBR3 right now.

It sounded like Shawn Lane's Powers of Ten, so I whipped out a 2x10, now it really sounds like Powers of Ten.

Of course, I can't play like Shawn :(

You're right - with a touch more gain, some delay, and a humbucker loaded guitar, it does remind me of Shawn.

This module has the clearest distortion of all of them when you roll off some of the highs. There is almost no buzz it's so smooth. But it still cuts because you can add mids and it doesn't get that ugly honk that some amps get. The mids are very nice on all of Bruce's stuff. It's his signature.

I like it because I can switch from my Strat to my SG without changing the settings. And the SG is even smoother.

I can't play like Shawn either, dammit!

COD, any great module in the egnater line up. It really is like a whole new amp with that one! It actually makes you play to it, in a good way. No, make that in a great way.

I cannot understand why I sold mine. I really need it now with this new gig I have. It would be perfect with the Vox I just got.

Boy.

COD is a weird one for sure...what with EQ being pre-gain and stuff...pump a bunch of gain in there and it seems like the tone controls have very little effect.

Pretty unique...still not sure if I'll keep it (for the second time) but I need to try it with different guitars...had a monster bad tone day yesterday and all my modules sounded the same and not good (a bad ear day....lol)

Isn't that just the way it goes??

Have you tried swapping V1 in the chassis lately?

BTW, my COD showed up!!! Thanks Frank!!!!

I put a JP 5751 in V1 of the COD, and channel A turned out to be a pretty nice clean sound. I didn't like the high end of this module at first on channel B until I EQ'd it with my ears and not my eyes.

With the Bass and Mids at 12:00 and the treble down to 9:00, it was very smooth. Sort of reminds me of a certain reclusive amp designer whose name rhymes with "Bumble." LOL!

Try using the Bright switch at 1 and bass at 1, run the Bass at 10:00, Mids at 11:00, and treble at 9 or so...and it gets really cool with single coils!!!

Thanks Eric - I'll try that tonight.

I agree, my Strat sounds great with the COD. And I really like the pushed clean sound on channel A. I've been using it for clean solos more than my DLX lately.

Sounds good man :)

With the bright switch on one, it helps give it a shimmer and sparkle to it, but not harsh or ice picky when the treble is at 9-10 oclock.
