You are told you're going to be substituting for a major guitarist at a huge concert tonight, but they won't tell you who or what it is. You have no idea what genre. You have no clue what you're playing.

You can use one module, but pretty much any pedals, power amp, efx, and cabs that you wish.

The module can either be in a MOD 50 or an M4. whichever you choose.

I'll start:

SL in an M4

other stuff I'll bring:

MXR classic Dist.
volume pedal
TC 2290
TC 1210
CAD CGM3 compressor
Rivera TBR-5 power amp
VHT 4x12
VHT 4x12

With this rig, I could get by playing pretty much anything, assuming I have some nice pickup switching options.

Your turn.

I am interested in this as I am thinking about a M4.

I would load my MOD50 with the SL module and bring my old Marshall 1960B cabinet... And to be on the safe side I would bring all pedals I own...

The SL2 for sure! Covers just about everything under the sun with the right settings.

Erect...I can get it pretty clean and screaming leads.
fulltone fat boost , Maxon OD808 TC Gsystem Randall RT2/50, 2x12c Stone Age Cabs with mic eliminator. DONE Jazz to Metal.

Mesa sounds cover Santana, old Floyd, and many rock to heavy bands. Lonestar, Marks and Rectifiers.

Another vote for the SL. Give me that module, Sparkle Drive, BB, BK Butler Tube Driver and a good Chorus and Delay and I could do anything.

Actually, I have done that. SL A set clean SL B set dirty. Covers a lot of ground.

Ok well I'm figuring guitars are non exclusive as well. Since you picked my poweramp Gene I'll play the imagination game.

Module:
Give me the VX.

Guitars
Godin Montreal
Gibson Dark Fire (Bigsby)
Gretsch 6120
Fender Thinline TC90 (Bigsby)

Amps
M4
Egnater Mystery Poweramp with all the goods. Mimics the RT2/50, all the switching functions of the TBR series, Laser sighting, etc

FX
Axe FX Std
Now if we're calling foul with Axe I would do...

TC 2290
Peavey Valverb
Rat R2DU
Deluxe Memory Man
MuTron BiPhase
Electro Harmonix Stereo Polychorus
all tied together with a Switchblade GL

I think this would do it for any venue, any genre.

EDIT-Dude I left out the CABS! Too much merlot with dinner perhaps.

I would use pretty much what my cab setup will be in a few months...

Sunn 4x12 GT75's V30's X pattern
Sunn 4x10 most likely Patriots and Redcoats X Pattern

Chode, you have good taste in gear.

You just picked out a lot of shit I own or want.

Plus, I technically don't have a TBR-5. I have a TBR-2SL, which is a TBR-5 with a preamp thrown into the mix.

Thanks Gene. You can call me Andrew if you prefer. I'm not bothered by either. :D

I would absolutely kill to get a TBR-2SL. The preamp section on that thing is the real deal and I'm obviously a fan of the power section.

I plan to get a 6120 from my local dealer eventually. I started out wanting the green tiger flame I think it's the SSUGR. I talked with him for a bit and came to the agreement that we're ordering the parts and assembling here. He is getting another guy to custom paint it in silverburst. Should be around $3k when it's all said and done. You think I'm getting ripped?

SL2! This is my desert island module. I have an SL as well, and yes, it's great... but as long as I have a great guitar with sensitive volume controls that don't kill highs I can do nearly everything I want with the SL2 and no OD pedals. It cleans up great for me and can get into SL territory, but can also go further on the gainier side...
