Your favorite Cover Songs?

I have some I really like but here are a few:


Van Halen - Pretty Woman. I know the Intruder intro doesn't really count but it is so cool. When I was a young teen this was just the shit.


Killswitch Engage - Holy Diver. This was recorded when Howard was still with the band for the epic As Daylight Dies Special Edition album. Jesse does a great job too, and here is a live version of that song with Jesse.


Pantera - Cat Scratch Fever. I must say I like this version a lot better than Ted's original and I didn't think that was possible.

I actually like the Killswitch Engage version of Holy Diver more than the original. It's just a bit heavier, and the screaming parts don't feel forced and sound awesome. I like that they mostly stuck to the original beats without trying to jazz it up too much, it's just an excellent iteration of the original with a little more "oomph."

Okay, my favorite covers:

"Bad Guy" by Billie Eilish but done in the style of Breaking Benjamin. Really love this track, and still love the original too. This guy's whole channel has some really good ones, but this is my favorite of the bunch.


"Party and Bullshit" by Notorious BIG, remixed to... modern funk? Not sure what to even call this genre. But this version is just killer to me. Probably not to everyone's taste here since there's barely any guitar.



This was a minor hit in my area (Georgia), or at least, a lot of people heard this version when I was in college. I think it had some shock value so you'd show it to someone that obviously knew the Katy Perry version and they'd be caught in total surprise by the screaming and Drop A guitar stuff.
 
Always thought this Smoke on the Water cover by Richie Kotzen and TM Stevens fucked hard




Faith No More's cover of War Pigs and Revocation's cover of Surprise You're Dead! are also epic

Agree with Killswitch Engage "Holy Diver". I love that version. Doro Pesch's cover of Egypt is one of my faves though:

 
Here are a couple more covers. These 2 are Korn. I was really impressed with 'Another Brick In the Wall' and again - was not expecting to be.
