That's cool. He was supposedly in Dio's band for a while. If I remember right, it was after Aldrich left to help out Whitesnake. I could be wrong though.

Is it me or do some of those vids seem uninspired, like they are going through the motions or something? Maybe it's because I've had a few drinks

Some very rare footage of DeMartini in Whitesnake. I never even knew this happened back in the day. I had no idea. I didn't find out until I saw someone post it online, then I ran across these vids in the past year or two. The sound quality sucks, but still...

And yes MegaMark, he's playing a Performance guitar that looks like that nice Caparison you butchered with the new sponge body. :)

Kinda weird seeing him in Whitesnake. I think it only lasted a VERY short time, but someone can correct me.

Warren also got the gig with Dio right after Doug Aldrich left, but he was either fired or left 1 week after the announcement. Not sure what happened there. I think Dio sited musical differences or something. Too bad, because he would've rocked in Dio.

Wow. Sad. Coverdale's voice was horrendous in those vids, and Warren just couldn't fill the shoes of the guitarists that came before him in Whitesnake, he was really out of his element and playing badly...and I really like Warren's playing normally. But those vids were awful.

Per Wikipedia:
First revival - Greatest Hits tour (1994)
In 1994, "Whitesnake: Greatest Hits" was released. As well as the release of the compilation, a new incarnation of the band went on a short tour in Europe (to help support poor sales), with former Ratt guitarist Warren DeMartini playing lead guitar and Denny Carmassi on drums. Adrian Vandenberg, one of Whitesnake's guitarists during the 1987-1991 period, also returned to the fold as did Sarzo. Paul Mirkovich was now on keyboards. Following this the band returned to hiatus upon losing their recording contract.

I don't remember this either. Coverdale sounds horrendous and the band doesn't sound much better. The band with Aldrich, Beach, etc on the In the Still of the Night DVD kills this one.

that's the thing about Warren.. I grew up on him and liked him alot in Jr. High but he just seems like a one trick pony, a guy that can lay down a burning hairmetal solo and thats about it..I don't hear alot of depth to his playing at all... he's really good at that one thing though....

really, I think he is a great soloist..good feel, nice intensity...but that's his one trick... I have never heard very interesting rhythms , textures or writing out of the guy... if you need the burning Round and Round type solo.. you really cant do any better....

I'll use a peer of his ..Jake E. Lee.. a guy like that can do the hair metal, shift gears and do a great acoustic piece, play dirty bluesy classic rock and metal as well...actually he sounds like a seasoned player that could probably adapt to any situation.. I hear a wide range of influences..A guy that could join a band and take it to the next level....Warren sounds like he was into Lynch and VH and thats about it really.... I guess he tried to branch out a bit with way cool jr. but that was pretty ugly.... I dont want to cut him down but outside of a Ratt style band I dont think he offers a whole lot...
