Post your thoughts about the new Front-Loaded Diezel cabs

I'm interested in hearing what you think. Particulary if its loaded with G12K100s.

I think it is the best cabinet i have ever played hands down

It handles the low end amazingly well, is tight and crisp at all times, has wonderful overtones, great note separation and clarity (even with high high gain and down-tuning). Each note rings out clearly no matter how fast you are playing...nothing blends or runs together. It is incredibly focused and tight while being very musical. It is in no way stiff or sterile sounding. It has a very balanced attack and immense balance across the tonal spectrum. It is incredibly neutral and punchy. It projects wonderfully with a wide distribution of sound, not just straight in front of the cab. The cab will never fall apart or muddy up no matter the gain, bass, tuning, amount of strings on your guitar, etc. Standard tuning on a tele and the cab holds up the same as tuning way down on a 7 string with all out gain and bass, etc. The cab is always crisp and articulate.

Hey Terry, are the pictures on your sight of the new cab or are they of the old cabs. The rear-load has a S&P grill cloth so I assume they are old pics. Any new pics?

I got a new fl V30 cab for my Herbert and I love it. It's punchy, focused, handles all of Herberts sonic ranges extremely well. Built for the amps - what more can you want.

Btw, S&P, or black grill makes a huge difference in the sound. I have both.

i could finally try out the new cabs at the Musicfair in Germany. i had many cabs under my Herbert - Framus, Engl, Mesa, Randall, Orange, Krank, Custom-made ones (HOS)...but honestly: i havent heard something like this before - the new cabs, and ESPECCIALLY the one with the K100s is just beyond awesome.

to be honest, i didnt expect THAT of a difference to the cabs i played previously. i've been proofed wrong, i admit it.

I'm also very happy owner of front loaded 4x12 Diezel cabinet. I have V30's in my old Marshall cabinet. I needed a new cab and just wanted to try out these gk100s. Maybe one reason was all those good reviews in this forum

No more hOnK hOnk sounding mids! Only good things to say about this cab.

Damn 4x12's weigh so much tho.....I really like the Bogner OS 2x12, its light, but still provides sonic cream. But for 4x12's...Diezels are the shit.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but...How are these cabs in regards to being directive? I've heard others complain that front loaded cabs can be overly directive and once you move out of the line of fire it kind of dissapears in the mix. How do these cabs fair in that regard?

edit: I just reread Terry's post and he had already addressed this. This cab definitely sounds interesting.

Yes I can! Did some comparison just a couple of days ago!
It was my new frontloaded Diezel G12k100 and the Mesa V30 Stiletto.
My first thought was "what!?!?"....I couldn´t belive how bad the Mesa sounded in comparison. It was unclear and undefined. And what was chocking the most was that all the tight low end (wich I need in my heavy music) just disappeared!
I´ve always placed Mesa really high on my list of great amps, along with Rivera, Elmwood and ENGL, but the new Diezel cab is really in it´s on class. You can´t go wrong with it!

Hopefully mine will be coming in soon and I'll post my thoughts. I'm pretty excited about it from everything I hear.

Since I recently bought a FL cab with the G12K100s to complete my collection, I'd like to tell you about my experience with these cabs. Keep in mind that I'm still in the process of discovering their sonic capabilities and these aren't by any means my final words

Rearloaded w/ V30 (grey grill cloth
Traditional sounding, smooth highs, great mids and warm bass (due to the s&p grill), still tight enough for hard rock and some metal stuff depending on your preferences. Very good projection. Averall a cabinet with lots of character. I really appreciate it. Think I'll order another one with the Hempcone speakers some time in the future.

Frontloaded w/ V30 (black grill cloth
Tighter bass, a little less mids and more highs, lets the speakers do the talking for the most part.
Bass is still warm and can get a little boomy depeding on your settings. The V30s tend to get a little muddy on high-gain settings. I like them for their warm sounding bass and great lead sounds.

Frontloaded w/ G12K100 (black grill cloth
Extremly tight bass, more mids than the V30s and smooth highs, still more presence. Some might say it's brighter. A very balanced sounding cabinet. It strongly reacts to your EQ settings, which I like very much. I played it at our last gig and was blown away how good it sounded all over the stage. No phasing issues and very good presence AND no fizz and ice-picking when miced.

With the VH4, I like the FL V30 + FL G12K100 combination, with the Herbert I favor the RL V30 + FL G12K100 combination.

Well, to be honest, I would take the FL G12K100 if I had to choose just one especially if you are playing in a band.

Has anyone ever compared the old front loaded Diezel cabs to the new ones, both with GK100's?

Are they really $600 better than a Mills?
