Well, here we are; back by popular demand.
In reviewing Chapter 1 (viewtopic.php?f=3&t=80425), some members of the "book club" felt that, in the past, they too were guilty of packing jobs that might be considered "overkill" to some. I believe the below will make everyone feel more comfortable that the approach they take in packing their parcels is within the realm of reason.
Earlier this year, I sold a Mesa/Boogie Quad preamp and Abacus midi controller to a fine gentlemen in Chicago that, at the time, was recovering from some serious medical issues. The last thing I wanted was for this rig to arrive damaged, as I knew he was really looking forward to it. That was my thinking going into the pack, and this is how I came out of it.....
We'll start with the Abacus.....
Now, onto the Quad.....
Now, bringing it all together, this is what the preamp and footcontroller looked like when UPS came to pick them up.....
To point out the obvious:
* this was expensive to ship - I ate an overrun in cost of $100; and
* the items arrived to the buyer in the same shape they were in when they left my possession.
Conclusion:
* you can rely on this Rig-Talker to "pack 'em tight and pack 'em right"!
