Kramer Baretta Vintage

I can't recall where or who, but I read a review that was very positive of these guitars. Good hardware, and the woods were true to the original. Got nothing much beyond that. Cool guitars though...at least in looks.

I looked into these at one point. Two considerations, Maple body if I recall, can be heavy. And a real Kramer Baretta I played had a seriously thin neck to the point of not liking it. The Charvel has a great neck and is Alder so can be lighter. I know what you mean about the Kramer though, that body headstock combo

I bought one about 8 months ago and i have to say it is worth every penny and more..IMO better than any Charvel that i owned and i have owned a lot of them....Everything about this guitar is pure quality. The fret work is killer. The guitar just plays and sounds great..Go for it. You will not be making a mistake.

How was the neck finished out of curiosity? Satin? Oil?

It has a satin neck...Just feels great...I have never been this satisfied about a guitar purchase....I have been through many guitars and this one is really killer....As good as any higher end guitar i have played...My buddy has a 1985 model and this feels and plays just as good...

I've been curious of these as well (may or may not be due to a certain white 1985/6 white Baretta in a certain music video for a certain guitar player of a certain Mötley Crüe I like)

Is it heavy? What is the neck profile like? I have no chance to try one in person.

Thanks for the feedback. I've been leaning towards the Barretta vintage for some time now.

Besides splawner's recommendation, there was also someone else on the fb vintage Kramer page who has both the original Barretta and this new one.

He swears by the new one and highly spoke of it.
Very happy to hear !

On another comparison.. Gary Kramer sells the illusionist.. You guys should check email out, for basically the same price. Very tempting.

Hit or miss, to say the least.

I had a white one that had the neck pocket angle wrong. Action was way high. Returned it to the store, and checked out a blue one. The paint had ripples and was a mess.

They look cool though.
