Ok, here's a clip I did with the Suhr Thornbucker+ set. First I will say that the Thornbucker+ bridge pickup is a brutally uncompressed pickup. I actually found myself fighting the guitar for this clip. While I love the tonal curve of the pickup, I definitely felt like I didn't have enough push from the pickup. Which is weird considering that the BKP Mules are in the same resistance range as the Thornbucker+, and I can easily get along with those. At one point I dimed the gain on 3rd gear OD2, and still didn't feel like the pickup was working with me. I of course do not have the chops or skill of Mr. Thorn, and these pickups definitely let me know about it. lol Anyway... here's the clip.

I've just put the same pickup in my Suhr for the bridge. Previously had the ssh+ which I found a but aggressive and scooped. I love the thornbucker, it's so useable, especially for cleans but I have found that I've had to push the gains up a bit on my amp. As per your comment it doesn't seem to push the amp but it's not going anywhere, it replaced my BKP crawler.

I ended up putting my SSV+ back in the guitar. The Thornbucker, IMHO, is a pickup for people who can shred on the clean channel of an amp. Seeing as I’m a hack player, I need all the help I can get. Lol. I just found it way too uncompressed for my liking. I’m sure it will be “the” pickup for some guys.

I found these pickups to be too bright and lacking in low end.

I have a set in my R8. I love them. I love the fact that they are very uncompressed and force you to dig in. I find them to be bright and aggressive sounding. Plenty on clear, tight gain for me
