Saw Andy Timmons a few weeks ago doing his Mesa Boogie clinic. Snapped a pic of his pedal board. Its pretty modest compared to most but his tone is impeccable and the guy is a monster player. Super nice guy too. I talked to him for about fifteen minutes about his rig and he was very gracious.

He usually runs two memory mans but one had died on him earlier that day.

What are the white and red pedals?

+1 I can't make out what they are and they don't look familiar to me

Andy is such a class act and his tone is simply amazing

Yeah i'm not sure how much he uses them. He said he mainly boosts with the BB and the Tube Driver and he said he doesn't use much chorus. He is putting out a Beatles instrumental album. Maybe this is where he uses the fuzz? He played a little of the Beatles thing and it was very cool. Think of Gary Hoey doing Hocus Pocus, that kind of thing. But it will just be one guitar track.

is the itty bitty pedal a T1M buffer boost?

BTW, that board looks like a garage band board compared to 95% of forumite boards. I don't mean to sound like a snob, but it seems he could be a little more tour worthy with his power supplies/routing/mounting/etc.

very interesting.

Sometimes it shocks me how simple these rigs are.

Such an awesome tone, maybe even my favourite.

That bb preamp vid with the elec gypsy intro.

Drool...

That's kind of the reason I posted the pic. There's guys with super impressive rigs that sound like crap. Andy makes it work with very little.

yes, but there are also some staggeringly complex rigs that sound awesome. (Gilmour, Edge, Dweezil, etc)

That's what I was thinking too, I mean all his pedals don't even fit on the pedal board. It does make me feel better about my pedalboard though. :D

I always laugh when I see boards like this. It flies in the face of all the gear snobs on interweb forums. I've seen andy with nicer setups though... so who knows what was going on for that clinic.

Below is a picture of Eric Johnson's pedal board. Both Andy and Eric have killer tone. Both choose to get it witout the latest greatest internet fad.... well, actualy, both have started several internet crazes so... maybe we'll start seeing some "thrown together" boards as the rage soon. ;)

That looks more like a thrown together clinic board, not his regular touring board.
