Finally got EMG's installed in my Ibanez Universe

Ordinarily I'd do this my self, but because it was such a royal pain in the ass I went to http://www.sommatone.com and had Jim do the work. He did a fantastic job as always... :)


Anyway, I knew I'd end up with these in this guitar and sure enough they do sound better than any of the passives I've tried in this guitar. Very clear, crisp and articulate. The low b stays clear even on the neck position. It's not for everything. I definitely wouldn't use these for classic rock or blues but for modern metal, they're hard to beat.

I still like the 81/60 run at 18v although they seem to get bashed regularely here :confused:
Those look cool in the ibby :rock:

Yeah... It's not a hot PAF which most folks seem to prefer around here... Who am I kidding, I love a hot PAF myself, but I need some variety.

It came out good, but he took forever and until I threatened to take my money back I didn't hear from the guy.
