I got a couple of Red Monkey straps last year for $160 each...real nice straps!! I went on their site today, and the same straps are now $95... I ordered 2 more :)...just thought I'd give a heads up in case anyone is interested

$95 is too much for some, but almost everyone comments how nice they are when they put one on...

They look nice but seem expensive for what they are. Looks like plain old non padded leather. What's special about it? Are those some especially expensive grommets? :D

I use these http://www.heavyleathernyc.com/product-category/guitar/ . The owner is awesome and will work with you to customize anything, even on a used strap. They range from approx. $85 to around $250 or so. I like them because I can get extra long and especially because of the high quality. I probably have about 6 of them now. I bought a few new, 1 used, and 2 on sample sale from her facebook for $45 each, which is insane. The $45 straps were over $100 each normally, so they were worth it, and if I wanted any changes made, she would still make them (at an additional cost, ) but I didn't need any. She does other stuff too and once threw in a free black leathercamera strap as well, which is beautiful.

That's some real nice work!!, I like quality guitar straps!! Red Monkey does up custom work too...Nice guitars just deserve sweet straps, mine are worth it :)

MAYBE I'd spend that much if my guitar was $4K.

$45 too much? $90 too much for something that will last forever? I have the Dapper, Hells Bells, Midnight Sun, Lightning and something that looks similiar, but thinner to the one the guy with the Warlock bass has. I honestly don't think I paid more than $90 for any of them, but I waited for sales. Her stuff is amazing.

This guy is also in Brooklyn. I really hope to be able to afford to have him make me a strap one day. His shit is amazing and just art.

Never given much thought to custom straps I guess. I mostly just use Levy's... have a couple white cotton straps and a 3" wide black leather one.

I think $45 is fair.

I can't use those because I am just too big. They make the guitar uncomfortable. I used Levy's when I was younger and liked them. When I found these, I really saw the quality go up and enjoy that I can get what I want for either the same price, or just a tab more.

I also use old Dimarzio cliplock in leather, but they don't make them the same anymore.

Is it the length that gets you? Because I am a big guy too, and that's why I go with Levy's. They have a long length available for some of their straps.

Yeah, it is the length. They have long length available for "some." Not all of which are nice, most of which are not available when I want them. Why be bothered when I can order what I want, have top quality and be done? I've had Levys and got rid of all of them when I got these.
