Doesn't surprise me that SLASH is back to playing JCM800's (no doubt with the #34 changes made to the preamp) or using is Jubilee sig amps. The AFD sound was great for cutting in an album mix but live the sound of those amps are a little nasally and thin sounding. Listen to everyone's #36 Caswell/Levi mods on youtube.. when i did the 36/39 mod on my test 2204 circuit, i found it thin and very concentrated in the high end. I think he controls the cut the wants with that Dunlop cry baby fixed setting pedal, and more gain for leads through the clean boost. Marshalls have plenty of cut without squeezing more out of that circuit. Good for Marshall for selling a pile of amps that were quickly resold by the owners and continue to find new homes! Was cool to see a DD3 for his delay though. I like seeing these big shots going back to stripped down uncomplicated gear that just gets the work done.
