Phil is making a good prison bitch in San Quentin for murdering an innocent woman, may he rot there.
 
Spector did produce Rock and Roll Radio. He was pushing his wall of sound and moving the Ramones toward some more pop sounds. Joey was down, he was a huge fan of Spectors earlier work, Johnny hated it.
 
Chinese Rock on that album (End Of The Century) is one of my favorite Ramones tunes.
 
so basically the P-Spec was an S-Bag?

i'm going to look for a documentary on youtube about Phil Spector.... brb

lets go, is a great song off that album and I believe Johnny Thunders co wrote chinese rock with Dee Dee
 
Yeah, he produced End of the Century but then that was it. I have heard the gun story but I don't remember how it all went down. I have heard also that Phil brought in his own musicians to do the music. At least the bass. I have Dee Dee's autobiography , I think it explains it in there.
 
yeah, i read dee dee's autobiography (labotomy}and he talked about the gun incident with phil spector saying that phil was a total creep and a nutjob and coming from dee dee that says alot! Joey was a big fan of phil's work and of early rocknroll/pop music of the 60's. Dee dee says he doesnt remember playing bass on many of those tracks and says he thinks phil had tried to use another bass player. The book was a great read wheather u love the ramones or not, I happen to love them. Also, dee dee claimed that thunders sort of stole chinese rocks which was a song about dope in ny at that time. I am a Big fan of thunders stuff also.
 
Spector is currently serving a 19 year to life sentence at the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison, Corcoran. He will 88 before he is eligible for parole.

I have the Heartbreakers version on itunes and it's slower than the Ramones, it sort of gives a drugged feel to the song.
