That is exactly right.
You now know 2 different positions of the E Dorian scale (mode, whatever.)
That's all modes are.... a different position to play the same scale.
Try this:
Pick any scale you want, start it on the 6th string - 5th fret (we are in the key of A - major or minor depends on...
That was way cool. MLF used to come in to this club in Council Bluffs, Iowa and watch my band play. Super nice guy, I had no idea who he was back then. He'd compliment us and my playing and whatnot! Ha! If I only knew.... Dude is a monster.
Listen you two, I don't hang out here much any more, however, the 1st time in ages that I take the time to type my user name into this here forum (not ot mention my password) and yous guys gotta make outlandish claims and, and, and, whatnot!!
shame.............
The TSL had a choke added (not by Trace), Trace modded it (not sure what was done, but I believe it's what he typically does to them - nothing crazy), and it had Mercury Magnetics tranformers. That's it.
It sounds killer. To my ears, less "depth" than the Quick Rod.
I was running the gain around 10 o clock and it was PLENTY. I was way surprised. You could not dial out the "hair/fizz" on teh top end even with the mids, treble, and pres on 0 but I love that! I wouldn't call it ice picky, but it is a bright amp. Don't know how old/new it was but I can tell...
Had chance to play a bunch of amps last nite:
TSL modded by Trace at Voodoo (sounds KILLER)
Fuchs Frost Custom 50
Fuchs Train 45 (I think)
and the Quick Rod. Holy Bat, Shitman!!
I hope this thing was stock, coz If so I just found my new amp!
Better than good clean channel, but who ever...
For what it's worth, here's my 2 cents. This has helped me improve (imho) my sound tremendously......
Mic's don't lie. They may color a bit, but a mic right in front of your speaker, like it or not, is your tone. We as guitar players set our tone to sound good in relation to where we are...
As long as the amp is set to a lower number than the cab, you're fine. You may not like the sound, but it's not hurting anything. Amp set higher than cab = BAD.
16 Ohm cabs sound best.
Commence rocking
how 'bout
