It's not the SE. He is willing to throw in a 200 case with it. After playing both amps over and over again I really can't make up my mind. I don't think I'm going to trade I like them both. I feel like I can get a guitar anytime. These amps aren't as easy to come by.
All of em. Micro amp is cool cus it doesn't cut bass for leads. Big muffs can make the Splawn sing , scoops out the highs and sustains forever.
I've been using the boss ms3 and every OD on there sounds good
I've been playing the quick rod as my main amp for almost a year now.i finally got the hang of the EQ. Bass low at indoor shows. I recently picked up a Shiva 20th anniversary. This amp rips too but a different flavor. The Splawn can get a little brittle sometimes where the Shiva is bright but...
He put in a variable resistor with a relay that foot switches it in and out. This is right where all the different resistors are that make the different modes in the circuit. We couldn't figure out what resistor would do what I wanted so he added a variable one such like you would see in a bias...
Yeah switching from new to old definitely requires different EQ. I thought I was sold on just playing on new but I was messing around today and I am really digging the old setting. It's a much fuller sound. I think you would really dig gear one on the old setting.
These new quick rods are really...
Hmm This might be tough. Old has a more saturated gain for sure and the sound is beefier and less present. It sounds like the mids might be getting more gain like a chewier mid range.
New has less bass and has a much brighter open airy sound. I would say new is more in line with a marshall. Such...
I talked to him today. He didn't even notice my old new switch when he had my amp so hes not sure. I just looked in mine since I had it open anyway and I can see where it's going but I lose it on the chipboard because all the tracing is on the back side and I don't want to take it all apart. I...
I couldn't agree with mrflexx anymore. I used the boss SD1 into the front end of a plexi and ran the pedal exactly how you just said. I thought it sounded so much better than pushing the amp over the top. I've reduced gain quite a bit over the years I noticed I go for more clarity now. I have...
I know it can be done. I can ask my tech how the technology works. But when I was in there looking around it looks like it's just switching between different resistors to ground
I came up with a mod(technically my amp tech did based on what I wanted to achieve)to make the 3 gears more similar. I don't know about you guys but foot switching between gear 1 and 2 wasn't working. I can get either channel to sound great on their own but not with a shared EQ. The amp now goes...
I just went through my epi Les Paul swapping out a bunch of epiphone pickups. Here is my opinion
Probucker 2- sounded great in the bridge but I did not like it in the neck I thought it sounded dark.
Probucker 3- oddly enough it sounded like it had less output than the 2. Not sure why it might...
