I would say speaker break in does alter the sound, but just logically thinking about it. How can it always be better? Sometimes it has to make things sound worse.

The reg Psvane sounds really good in V2 of a Deliverance 120, have mine loaded with a Ruby AC5 HG+ in V1 and Psyvane in V2. Recorded clips so I could compare with different tube swaps and thats the combo that won out for me.

how do the wizard cabs compare to the Fatbottoms? Do the Wizard cabs have any secret sauce or special dimensions/build or is it a standard Marshall 1960 with better construction? I got a quote for one and my head almost exploded.

Yeah, mine was a little cold on the 6L6 side but you can switch it to the EL34 setting and set the bias low to get it into range. I have mine sitting at about 35ma with 6L6’s on the EL34 setting. Sounds really good! Going to try some KT77’s as suggested above.

What are some of your fave pre & power tubes for the XXX? Heard some horror stories with E34L's in these but wondering since I upped the values of the screen grid resistors (from 100ohm to 470ohm) it'll be ok? I do love the E34L's. Or maybe try the 6CA7's from JJ. For the preamp tubes, I think...

P.s. I bumped up the values per @glpg80 suggestion, I didn't have 1K on hand so I split the difference with 470 ohm 5 watters. Should be fine right?

Update: Swapped all 4 screen grid resistors. It's working like a champ now!! All 4 tubes getting current as they should. Took less than an hour due to the use of the Hakko desolder pump. (it would have been even less time but what genius at Peavey thought it was a good idea to use rivets to...
