Been saying this foreverI tried the head version of the Iconic. I would say that it is probably the best value on the market (new or used) for a modern sounding high-gainer.
I actually feel like the iconic has more gain on tap and the mids sit more Marshall than SLO so although they share a 5150 lineage I do like the iconic a bit more sonically. I don’t own one because I’ve had the 5150 II for decades.ive not played one, have heard some good sounding clips though, but for a couple hundred more you can get the 6505 1992
Yours sounded great at our mini amp fest....easily better than any iteration of the 5153 that I've owned...which include both 100w stealths, and 2 50w 6L6s. It doesn't have that fake 'plastic' sounding thing the others seem to have.Been saying this forever
