So I want to replace the stock piezo/preamp in my Takamine EGS330SC. I love this guitar. The action is amazing and the overall feel and sound is perfect for me.
The thing is, the piezo that comes with this is so damn fake-sounding. It sounds like an electric, and the pre-amp does basically nothing but increase volume. So I'm thinking either the Fishman Prefix Plus or the Dean Markley Trilogy.
I like how the fishman sounds. Our other guitarist has one in his Ibanez Artwood, and it's so natural and REAL sounding. Shouldnt be too hard to replace the existing preamp/pickup setup Tak with it.
I also like the Dean Markley, tho I haven't heard it myself. I like the low-feedback, 3-pickup idea. A mic, a mag and a piezo sounds great for a nice balance of clarity and natural tones.
Anyone want to lend me some help? I'm looking to pick this up this week, and I have a few acoustic shows and a radio gig comin up.
Thanks guys.
