check out this video here for the TC Electronics Classic Phase pedal:

The guy is playing through the Cornford Hellcat head and his clean and dirty tones are awesome (ignore the phase pedal - this video was taken from the TC Electronics website and I edited it down a bit). He plays non phased samples of both ch. 1 semi-clean and ch. 2 dirty tones before he engages the phaser pedal.

Was wondering what you had module wise that could get that type of basic tone. Or is this a power tube crunch thing?

Right now I have the Mod 50 head with DLX - VOX - COD - BASSMAN - MHG - SL2 modules and while they are all great - none of them gets that specific kind of semi crunch granular sustain and clean overtones that this guy is getting through that head. I think the COD comes close - but has more density in it than the Cornford.

Thanks!! :D

I get similar sounds out of the Twin/Deluxe module. On the Deluxe channel with the gain up a bit the sound is very close to that in between sound with clean overtones.

Yeah - I can get pretty close to it with the Deluxe module as well - however the Cornford has more snap and chime to it. Could be the tubes - 4 x EL84's in that head I think - or ould be the Mesa Cab. I love the Deluxe module BTW. Right now it is my favorite with the Vox being a close second.
