I actually think the sound from most of his videos has been worse ever since he started getting fancy with the micing. That stereo room mic does not sound good to me at all.

Yes I still play mine everyday since getting it. I boost the front end slightly with the GE7. Output slider just a hair above unity, also boosting 100 and 1.6 k and 6.4k sliders...and lowering the 200 and 3.2k sliders. It's pretty sweet and vicious sounding that way.

What I like about it is the louder you turn it up the thicker it gets, without offensive overtones or harshness or thinning out which often happens with SS amps.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it sounds great! Running it through a Greenback loaded 4x12 and having a blast.
