Fryette PS 100 or UA OX BOX --What the difference?

I have a Fryette Ps-100 and listened to the clip on the Marshall 50 watt 4 holer that's for sale in the classifieds . I know how the Fryette works but saw that the clip was recorded with cab sims into the computer . I could be mistaken or wrong but I'm kind of curious about the difference in these 2 units . Obviously the OX BOX can be used as an attenuator only or can be used for recording also. I'm sure I'm missing a few pertinent facts here but I'm trying to figure out the how these would be used in different applications. I know the Fryette can be used for reamping and power . My needs would be to basically tame really loud amps .

Any enlightenment would be helpful!
