I know tonnes of dudes who go out and buy their first guitars because they think it'll impress girls. Once I went with some guy to helped him buy a guitar and he picked the worst and cheapest possible guitar you could find. He wasn't interested in learning either, because it was too much effort. He just wanted to be seen with a guitar

He brought it to college for a while, and I'd always ask for it and jam with it. When he found out that I was meeting lots of girls on account of it, he stopped bringing it to college. I never saw him with that guitar again
