Help- How do they make this noise with the guitar?

In The Strokes' song "Killing Lies," there's a guitar solo that's very unique. The third note they play in the solo (I believe it's a F# if that helps any) sounds unlike anything I've heard before. My question is, is it some type of harmonic? If so, what's the technique to do it?

BTW - This album is so well crafted; Nick's and Albert's guitar playing/songwriting is second to none.

The string vibrates :-In this causes the sounding board of the guitar to vibrate at the same frequency. The velocity of a wave through the soundboard is higher than that of the string, so the soundboard causes sounds much louder than the strings.

Guitar consists of string when with pulled by guitarist vibrate and produce a special sound when guitarist press an appropriate thread match with the string .Its depends upon the combination of thread and the string to produce different sound .
