What does the tri-tone switch on the AS153 do exactly to the neck pickup sound? I'm guessing splits to single-coil vs. humbucker and one is out of phase? thx.

up = ?
mid = ?
down = ?

"It means that the coils of the humbucker are used in parallel - like, for example, the single coils on a strat when you're using two simultaneously. It lowers the output and gives some nice funk-tones.

EDIT: In contrats, usually the coils of a humbucker are used in series, which gives you the normal humbucker sound and more output."
