Two words "Plausible Deniability" is what happened here. I'd go for the partial refund,
as long as the pedal works. Hell, you will likely chip it up anyway, right?

Best option IMO.

One of the worst reverb deals I had was a cheap pedal as well.

Got a Buddy Guy wah (awesome) the pics were good and was great condition minus him painting in the white circles he says.

When I get the pedal it was shipped in a box twice its size NO bubble wrap, no paper. NOTHING Just a big empty box and a pedal.

When I took it out the rubber top was off sitting in the box and there were no screws holding in the backplate. On top of that the "paint" he used was magic marker and got all over my hands.

Was the worst pack job I have ever seen in my life. Anyway I got a partial refund and accepted it. Is just a pedal and I got it super cheap when it was all said and done.

I get it, it is more about the principle but sometimes getting a better deal in the end is worth it.
