Ironball Power Soak problem

Hello Engl Forum,

Own a new Ironball purchased 11/11/14 and have this issue from
the start. At first thought it was preamp tubes as suggested by
Engl USA distributor Velvet Dis.

After installing two new tubes it still has the problem, sounds
flat,muddy and distorted even on clean. No sustain to speak
of at full 20W.

Turn the Powersoak to 5W and it comes alive
breathing fire and taking names, sounds about 90% of what
it should sound like.

Waiting to hear back from Velvet after call & email, posted
here because of not hearing back from them.

I have heard back from ENGL today about my
amplifier issue, will post updates for posterity
and anyone else thinking about owning ENGL
products.


* 02/12/2015 Update *

Amp is squared away, minor repair with cold
solder joints and Output tubes/bias. ENGL has really
turned their customer service around, responding
immediately to email contact and warranty
issues.

to hearing the Artist Edition in person here
