Line6 G50 replacement cable questions

Have a G50 and it's worked well for me over the past year. When I bought the unit I also purchased the Sure replacement cable and it's the only one I've used. The last few shows I'm starting to get a bad crackling noise when the cable moves and have narrowed it down to the end that plugs into the guitar. Opened up the housing and there doesn't appear to be any bad or lose solder connections, so I'm guessing something inside the housing is shorting out. I would like to build a slightly longer cable and use better quality ends and bulk cable.

Has anyone built one of these types of cables before and could possibly point me in the right direction? I'm assuming I can get everything I need from Redco?

To bad I won't have the stuff in time for my show Saturday. Oh well that's why we all carry multiple spare cables right? :no: :D

what cable did you use when making yours? Mogami 2549?
