Mesa Dual Rectifier Hum

I got a hum problem with one of my Dual Rectifiers lately. Only when i'm in Modern, even when i have nothing plug in the amp input.

For sure it's not the tubes, they work fine in my other amps. Does someone knows what could be the problem?

Hello. What recto do you have? 2ch or 3ch? Does it hum on both orange and red channel set do modern? Did you try to plug guitar directly to the effect loop return?
 
It's a 2 channel Rev F and yes it hum in Modern setting on both orange and red. I didn't try to plug the guitar in return of the loop, since it did it even without a guitar.
 
Try the trick with the effect loop. You can also slave the preamp to another head/poweramp . Use the signal from effect loop send. This way you can isolate the problem to the preamp or poweramp.
 
Take it to the tech then. It could be bad LDR which is common failure in older rectos.

It would be cool to write what was the culprit of problem with the amp when you get it back.

You were right, bad LDR and solder joint. Everything works fine now.
