Plexi mod (to sound like a plexi)

I have the Randall Plexi module that I use in my RM100 .To me it doesn't really sound like a 68 spec plexi or really a plexi at all .It sounds more like an old 71 50 watt super lead I had .Don't get me wrong it sounds FANTASTIC through my el34 and g12h30 Marshall slant front cab.

My question is do you have something you do or mod to sound more like the old plexi's --real light gain piano, bell like chime or is this just the way this is ???

Maybe think of Paul Kossoff (although I think he used a Super bass). :rock:

Also I'm open to other module suggestions that may work better for that tone !!!

Yes i have a mod for the plexi to make it sound more like a real plexi. In the end it will have more gain and more low mid growl to it. dave
 
Dave sort of OT ,but what is the difference between your modded plexi plus and the Mr Scary ..other than gain are they pretty similar?
 
The Scary has a extra gain stage to it. The voicing is a little more modern but still very Marshall sounding. The scary gain at noon is about the gain of the plexi on 10. Hope that helps.
