Saw Geoff Tate on Tuesday night in Foxboro (love me some live Queesnryche)

Unfortunately, Geoff soured the experience of him doing that when he went in to write for one of the albums after he left. All the members wrote about it in the lawsuit when they kicked him out. They had to prod Chris to do it, they needed his help writing or just some ideas, but Geoff was shooting everything down and dictating things in a "This isn't your band anymore" way, when the dude was just there to help out.

I can absolutely see Geoff and Scott approaching Ed and Mike about a reunion, but I think it's safe to say the DeGarmo ship has long sailed.
Without DeGarmo any reunion would be useless… I would 1000% rather see Queensryche with Chris and Todd. I think Tate is a great singer, but I think he’s a giant douchebag and I hate him for ruining a great band with his bullshit. The second I saw their vaudeville tour pics it was obvious he was trying to destroy whatever value the band had left at that point. It’s like when Lynch tried to destroy Dokken by insisting they have Kelley Gray produce Shadowlife. It was rumored that Gray always hated Dokken so this was an obvious choice if he hated the band too. Incidentally, Kelly Gray was the first guy that Tate got into Queensryche after DeGarmo left. He was also one of the guitarists in Myth, Tate’s pre Queensryche band. Supposedly they (Tate and Gray) hated heavy metal. I would postulate it’s because they’re fucking GAY. Who hates heavy metal ??? And likes vaudeville ??? They belong over at TGP. 😂

I saw Queensryche about 18 months ago, and I think it's been decades since Geoff could sing his own stuff as well as Todd sings it now.

I agree about the unlikeleness of a reunion of the classic lineup. Lots of really bad blood with Geoff. I think they would have to be a lot of money on the table for the other members to even consider it, and I'm not sure Geoff's ego would permit the compromises he'd need to make, where he'd basically just be a well-paid hired voice.

Chris seems really happy with the life he has, and I don't think he has any illusions about the ability to recapture any of the magic with the others. I'm not sure how much he even plays anymore.

How many times did Mindcrime and Empire go Platinum? I think money wise Chris is probably more than all set.
shit I would think they all should be all set financially
Watching some recent interviews with Tate since he had heart surgery I think he's mellowed a bit and maybe even realizes "he fucked up big time" .
I've watched some videos with Todd singing, damn he's good, but no Tate and no Delgarmo? .... it's just not the same

Yeah, Geoff spent a good decade in the 00’s talking about how he was never a big fan of metal and was sick of staying in that world. These days he’s changed his tune a bit. Gray seemed like a total liability to have around, before the split even happened Jason Slater, who had moved into Tate’s house and basically became the Ryche producer/writer during the bad years, even spoke of Gray being shitfaced in the studio and waving guns around like an idiot, which was detailed even more in the court documents.

When him and Stone got in the band and decided they were just going to improvise DeGarmo’s solos…..and do it fucking terribly, it was an eye opener in how the band cared about it’s self at the time. They at least have Stone doing the solos right these days, but to just let those guys go out and do what they wanted on classic fuckin’ songs…..trash.

I find it absolutely hilarious that Tate is suddenly playing tunes he's said repeatedly he hates.

That first clip isn't bad but man that second one... I get he's older etc but having seen him live repeatedly in his prime this is still just painful.
I just watched the second clip (as much as I could take). You’re right. That was really bad.

I’d love to read those court docs… got a link ?

Buddy had front row tickets years ago at a smaller venue. It was an iteration of the band, not him solo...if that makes sense. One of the guitarists was married to his daughter I think. Maybe it was him solo. Anyway he acted like a fucking cunt the whole show. Did not want their picture taken or anybody recording. I understand but he really acted like a .....CUNT....They sounded awesome though. Of course who has front row tickets and gets lucky enough to sit right in front of a PA cab and can only see half of the stage to the left? This mofo right here....And then later me and one of the security guys almost went at it because I moved.

I won't bother seeing Tate these days, but he has had some good shows doing this tour.
I saw them in their heyday, and "after" - during their first tour opening for KISS, missed the RFO tour, then twice with Metallica during OMC, caught an Empire show, Promised land, Hear in the now Frontier, then their first tour with Todd at the helm (at a local casino).

Going to see them with Saint in a couple of weeks... will be happy to see them, but I'm as happy tp see AS again (worked with them twice - all great guys and Joey Vera is cool as s&&t)

Isn’t Vera out of AS ? He’s in Overkill now ? Or is he doing both ?
