Tourmaster - new or old?

Is there a way to tell by serial number if a Tourmaster is a newer one (no transformer issue?) or the older ones with probs?

it would have an "M" at the beginning or end IIRC if new.

How do the Tourmasters stack up against the old TOL Eggy amps? Totally different beasts?
