Hi all,

Unfortunately have to move to an apartment and leave my much beloved Mesa recto 4x12 behind. Since there's absolutely zero chance of anyone prying my Uberschall from my cold dead hands, I'm in the market for a new 2x12.

Anyone have much experience with the EVH models, which use Celestion G12H-30 anniversary, vs the Mesa proprietary V30s?

Thanks all.

I cant ever get a 2x12 to sound anywhere near as good as a 4x12. I gave up. You might be able to plug the Mesa in and use it as a 2x12. Watch the ohms though.

It’s not the volume that’s the issue for me, I don’t have the space for the 4x12.

I own a Rev Blue and used to have an EVH 212. It did not sound that great with it honestly. Sounded cardboard-y and stale. Funny enough, it sounds pretty good with regular greenbacks though, especially when you are on the post 12 o'clock side of the presence knob. I find the Uber plays best with V30's out of any other speaker out there. Go with anything V30 loaded.

I use a rear-loaded Ubercab, and I really prefer the tone of the V30s over the 75s.
