Nice playing. The tone itself is a bit hollow/scooped. Pump those mids. If I remember right, there are 2
Mid freqs that are very prominent in that tone. 1 around 500hz and the other around s 2200hz. Have fun!
 
Yeah, I was trying to keep it simple as possible and not cram a whole bunch of eq on it. I think I can fix that in the daw. Mine is a little thicker in the low miss but yes, there is a little studio magic going on.

I originally recorded it with a Hetfield LTD, but it sounded really thin in the mix.

Bumped those frequencies in Reaper. Fixed the original link. Sounds even better
 
Sounds cool! How many guitar tracks?

Could be improved with a bass line. Or if there already is one, turn it up.
