Wiring type and ground soldering

Hello everyone,

First I would like to know the difference between three types of wiring for 2 humbuckers 4 conducters 1 volume 1 tone 3 way switch please!
first type 2 link.

Is there one of the two who is wrong or have two different ways to connect and what does it change? The difference between the two in the sound?

Secondly I know that it is possible to buy prewired kit as an example of this one from Emerson.

But when I look at it, it's completely different from the other two types of hookup I've talked about before.
I did research and if I understand correctly, it would be a serial connection instead of a parallel connection, am I wrong?
And that would be the old-school-way... And it's for use with humbucker 2 conducters.

My last question is about ground soldering.
Is it mandatory to weld all wires grounded at the same place on the volume knob?
Because that's what it creates a big pile up which makes a solder not very clean and can create a cold junction no?

Is not it better to solder each grounding cable to different places on the volume potentiometer in order to have a better solder?

Thank you to everyone who will take the time to read and write to me!

Ps: Sorry for my english i'm French from Montréal!

The 3rd and 4th links don't point to a specific schematic?

You are correct in that the first two links put the coils in series with one another making it a humbucker pickup. There are wiring capabilities out there that allow you to wire the coils in parallel. Paul Gilbert was big into this back in the 80's.

You'll find that you will need a lot of heat to solder to a volume pot. The heat can damage the traces of the potentiometer, and if you constantly solder it by getting it hot many times at different points, you'll likely damage the potentiometer. This is why it's heated once and all wires are soldered at once.

Have any other questions feel free to ask :)
