So I will be attending a large camping trip next month where there will be lots of folks. I will be bringing my acoustic for sure, but I also wanted to look into some of the leading mini battery-powered amps like the Blackstar Fly, the Katana Mini, the Laney whatever, etc... so I could bring my electric too.

Was wondering what you guys thought was the best sounding one of them all? I'm mostly concerned with the sound and features, not worried so much about battery life.

Thanks!

You want a battery powered amp to play in front of a lot of folks on a camping trip? That might be part of the problem - there’s no generator on this camping trip?

If you’re stuck to battery power pick your preference on the user reviews of it and go for it. Tbh that’s an extremely small niche market. The smallest amp I own is 20W and it still needs wall power. If I have to bring anything smaller that doesn’t have 120V, I’m not bringing an electric guitar at all.

Also if you don’t get replies on a thread don’t go creating a new thread threatening to kill anyone. Bump the thread you originally started or change the title so it has the word help in it or formulate the title as question. The mods don’t take kindly to threats at all here. Your time here will be short if you do it again.

bruh really?
I’m the only one that’s replied to help so far and this is all you’ve gotten out of it? Come on.

Go grab a boss katana mini or Yamaha portable. Played neither but you’re not going to get the best sound on batteries.

'we're in the middle of the woods now...at least those metalheads and shredders cant get to us now ! ' ....little do they know...

Get one of those 110v cig lighter adapters
Plug that into your car and keep your car running
That way you can have all the tone of one your big boy amps
And the added sag should provide some hella brown tone

I have an old peavey decade that work off a cig lighter. Weird unique sounds but a good portable amp.

The very first amp I ever bought still works great, doesn't sound great but I still play it here and there just because I remember when I was 15 years old it was the greatest sounding thing in the world!

I got mine at an auction for 30 bux with the intent of flipping it. (They go for like 3-600 now thanks to Josh holmme) but I played it and actually really like it. It's a weird sounding lil amp I'll use on recordings.

Bonus points if you run it into a power amp and a 4x12. Its badass.

Here's an attempt at a serious answer.

I have the Blackstar Fly. This one does not come with the AC adapter, so you have to pay extra to buy that unless you're only ever going to be using it with batteries. That's a HUGE negative IMO. Also, it does not have a lot of features.

I also have the Flamma FA05. This one includes the AC adapter. Big plus. It also has WAY more features. 7 amp models, drum machine, tuner, Bluetooth (so you can play along to your favorite tunes), chorus, tremolo, delay and reverb. Also has an auxiliary input, and headphone jack. The Blackstar has delay, and one amp model, no Bluetooth, no tuner, no drum machine. Also, the Flamma just sounds much better.

Alternatively, don’t be the loser that brings an electric guitar on a camping trip.

Where are you camping, a Wal-Mart parking lot? The streets of Portland? This is the type of bullshit people go camping to get away from.
