My band had practice yesterday and is typically pretty loud. I usually use my 5150-III 6l6 50 watt but decided to try the Friedman thru a Friedman 1x12. First off, was plenty loud and barely had it turned up. I think it was at 10 o'clock maybe?

The tone was awesome and thick for EL84s but was getting more feedback squeal than I expected. I was using quite a bit of gain but I never get anything like that with the 5150-III. Sounded great though and still messing around with it. Really loud though.

love the Friedman’s! Been gigging the original PT 20 for many years now. Depending on the room I use a Friedman 1x12 or Marshall 4X12 with Greenbacks. Played a gig Saturday night and during break another guitarist from a local band came up to me and complimented me on my tone and wanted to know what was that amp I was using he had never heard of them. When I told him Pink Taco ? I wish I could have gotten a picture of his face! He said Pink Taco back to me a couple of times. I said YES google it when you get home.

I really love the amp and great tones, especially with the Friedman 1x12, but was wondering why there was so much feedback. Like you said though, great amp!! My 5150-III 6L6 50w is my main amp and the Friedman wasn't a huge difference in tones and feel from my 5150-III.

I haven’t played the PT V2 but judging by the videos it seems to be “hotter” I haven’t experienced any issues with feedback. I don’t use any OD pedals and we play classic rock so gain is somewhere around 1 o’clock.

Sounds as though your Pink Taco V2 needs
a Runt 50.
For me, if I go EL84, it’s gotta’ be 4 in the
power section.
You see how small EL84’s actually are?
Not much bigger then 12ax7’s!!,
Regardless of volume levels, you need headroom.
You taxed out the Taco, time for a burrito!
LTFOL!!!

I loved all my Friedman heads. Had 5 of the big boys. All were super quiet mostly, but I liked to run mid-gain and boost that, and sometimes my Friedman's had a bit more feedback than some of my other amps. But I don't think they are noisy amps, per se.

One of these days I'm going to do a chopstick tap on the tubes and just see if I may have a bad one. Sounds great at low and high volume but was surprised at the squeal since I didn't max out the gain.
